Description
YAPI is a welcoming performance space for young artists ages 18 and under to step onstage, try something new, and be heard.
Created to encourage creativity and confidence, YAPI offers youth a non-competitive, supportive open mic environment where performers of all skill levels are invited to share music, spoken word, comedy, storytelling, or other creative expressions. Original material is encouraged but never required. For many participants, YAPI is their first experience performing on a professional stage with a sound system and crew.
Since 2003, YAPI has helped generations of young performers explore stage presence, self-expression, and the joy of sharing their voice with a kind and attentive audience. It remains a meaningful part of the Kerrville Folk Festival’s commitment to nurturing young artists and welcoming families into the creative life of the campground.
